Long-term plan of development of the network
In accordance with the provisions of Law no. 107 of 27.05.2016 on electric energy, the Transmission System Operator S.E. “Moldelectrica” is required, in line with the energy strategy of the Republic of Moldova, to develop a transmission network development plan for a 10-year period.
The development plan was created based on the study "Development of the Electric Transmission Network Development Plan for 2018-2027", prepared by experts from the Department of Electrical Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Moldova. Additionally, when developing the Transmission Network Development Plan of the Republic of Moldova (RM), the perspectives of the neighboring countries' electrical power systems were taken into account.
S.E. “Moldelectrica” develops, modernizes, and retrofits the transmission network (RET) under economic conditions in order to ensure its adequacy to the needs arising from the evolution of the electrical power system in the Republic of Moldova:
- Evolution of electricity consumption needs;
- Connecting new electricity production groups to the public electricity network;
- Evolution of electricity exchanges of the SEN with neighboring countries' electricity systems;
- Physical and moral wear and tear of electrical equipment in the RET;
- Decommissioning of certain energy units from power plants;
- Pronounced changes in power flows in important elements of the RET;
- Significant changes in energy losses in the RET.
