TSO main functions

To ensure the reliable operation of the energy system of the Republic of Moldova, "Moldelectrica," as the Transmission and System Operator, manages the power system's electrical regime and performs the following functions:

  • Management of the technological operating regimes of energy facilities.
  • Compliance with established reliability parameters for the functioning of Moldova’s energy system and the quality of electricity.
  • participarea la organizarea activităţii de prognozare a volumului de producere şi consum a energiei electrice;
  • Coordination and execution of connections, reconnections, disconnections, and repairs on the transmission networks, in accordance with the Technical Rules and other regulations approved by the Energy Regulatory Agency in line with Moldova's legislation.
  • Issuance of mandatory operational dispatching orders for energy entities to fulfill system operator functions.
  • Development of daily optimal load curves for electrical stations and networks.
  • Participation in preparing and issuing technical conditions for connecting energy entities to the transmission grid.
  • Operation of electricity transit interconnections in parallel with energy systems of other countries.
  • Management of overloads in transmission networks, including interconnection lines, in compliance with electricity market rules, technical standards for transmission networks, and regulations governing grid access.
  • Organization of operational and technical management of the energy system and the energy flow control in neighboring countries’ systems.
  • Provision of system services, including balancing services.
  • Monitoring the actual technical condition and operational level of energy facilities.
  • Carrying out other activities as specified by the legislation of the Republic of Moldova.
